HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii reported just 44 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday.
Because of the state’s two-day delay in reporting, those figures are actually from Sunday.
Of the 44 new cases, 32 were on Oahu, six were on the Big Island, five were on Maui. The statewide total for cases now stands at 17,968. There have been 1,243 cases in the last 14 days.
Meanwhile, there were no new fatalities reported. The death toll from the virus stands at 244.
The 14-day average for new cases in Hawaii is down 6%, according to the state Health Department, while it’s down 10% on Oahu. Only Maui County has seen its average for new daily cases rise over the last two weeks.
