(KITV) Where to get a free COVID-19 test in Hawaii

The state is offering free coronavirus testing in all counties. Sites vary each day.

The state is offering free surge testing. Click HERE for the latest schedule and to pre-register to save time. No need to make an appointment, you can just show up. 

Testing on Oahu is available at: 

TODAY from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at HPD HQ, 801 South Beretania Street Lawn Area, 1st Floor, Honolulu
TODAY from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Walmart Pearl City, 1131 Kuala St, Pearl City
Oct. 30-31 and Nov. 2-3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Waikiki Shell, 2805 Monsarrat Ave, Honolulu
Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wai’alae Iki Neighborhood Park, 4838 Kalanianaole Hwy, Honolulu

Testing on Molokai is available on Nov. 8 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mitchell Pauole Center, 90 Ainoa St, Kaunakakai.

Testing on Lanai is available on Nov. 8 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lanai Community Hospital, 628 7th St, Lanai City.

Testing on Kauai is available at Westside Pharmacy (HI), 1-3845 Kaumaulii Hwy, Hanapepe, and Vidinha Stadium, Hoolako Street, Suite 105, Lihue.

Testing on the Big Island is available at Pahoa Pharmacy, 15-2660 Pahoa Village Rd #205, Pahoa.

This is federally-funded surge testing using PCR tests (not the conventional diagnostic testing), so you don’t need to have symptoms, a doctor’s note, health insurance, underlying health conditions or previous contact with a positive case to get the test.

If you are asymptomatic, you don’t need to quarantine while waiting for your results. You should receive your results about 3 days after taking the test. 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services offered free COVID-19 testing in August and September. KITV-4’s Annalisa Burgos took a free COVID-19 test at a Kalihi walk-in site during the surge testing. She received her results after 3 days and it was negative.
