Road Work for the Week: June 20-27

SCHEDULE OF LANE CLOSURES (Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.):

— H-1 FREEWAY —

PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU
8 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday through Sunday: Right lane closures in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) for deck widening.

  • Three right lanes closed from 8 p.m. Saturday through 10 a.m. Sunday
  • Two right lanes closed 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday
  • One right lane closed 2-6 p.m. Sunday

PEARL CITY
Up to three lanes closed on the freeway in both directions between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass for the rail project.

  • Up to three lanes closed in both directions 8 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning
  • Up to three right lanes closed 8 p.m.-10 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning

The number of lanes closed will vary depending on the location of the roadwork.

8 p.m.-10 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning: Westbound Waipahu off-ramp closed for the rail project.

SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Now through 12:01 a.m. Monday: Two left lanes closed in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp. All ramps will remain open.

Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph in order to minimize traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck. Airport Viaduct improvements include concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs, and pavement restriping. Work is located between the Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Keehi Interchange.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

EAST KAPOLEI/EWA
7:30 p.m.-5 a.m. weeknights: Closed between Kualakai Parkway (North-South Road) and Old Fort Weaver Road Loop for the rail project. Road is open on weekends.

The outside lanes of Keahumoa Parkway closed 24/7.

NANAKULI
7 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning: Roving lane closures in the eastbound direction between Haleakala Avenue and Laumania Avenue for utility installations and road striping work.

PEARL CITY
Two lanes closed in the eastbound direction between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and Waiawa Road for the rail project.

  • Lanes closed on 8 p.m.-10 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning
  • Lanes closed on 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday night  through Friday morning

Full closure of the Farrington Highway eastbound on-ramp to the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction for the rail project.

  • Closed 8 p.m.-10 a.m. Saturday night through Sunday morning
  • Closed 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning

PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU 
Single lane closure in the westbound direction between Waiawa Road and Kahualii Street for the rail project.

  • Lane closed 8 p.m.-10 a.m. Saturday night through Sunday morning
  • Lane closed 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning

WAIPAHU
Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

The Fort Weaver Road/Kunia Road overpass will be closed weeknights for two weeks beginning Thursday. The work and related lane closures are expected to run from June 25-July 10.

The southbound direction of the overpass will be closed 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Friday. Southbound drivers will be detoured onto Old Fort Weaver Road via the Ewa off-ramp and back onto Fort Weaver Road.

The northbound direction of the overpass will be closed 8 p.m.-3 a.m. Monday through Friday. Northbound drivers will be detoured onto the highway via the Waipahu off-ramp. Drivers along Farrington can turn left onto Leoku Street and Waipahu Street to re-enter Fort Weaver Road heading northbound.

Leoku Street to Leokane Street

  • The inside lanes are closed between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.
  • Westbound left turns restricted from the highway onto Leoole Street.
  • One of the two eastbound left-turn lanes from the highway onto Leoku Street is temporarily closed 24/7 because of shaft and column work.

Waipahu Depot Road to Mokuola Street

  • Westbound lanes and a short section of Mokuola Street on the mauka side are closed between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.
  • West end of Moloalo Street near Mokuola Street closed between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Mokuola Street to Paiwa Street
The inside lanes are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Paiwa Street to Kahualii Street
The inside lanes are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Kahualii Street to Kamehameha Highway
The inside lanes are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

AIEA/ALOHA STADIUM
Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

Kuleana Road to Kaonohi Street

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are also closed overnight between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • One eastbound lane of the highway near Blaisdell Park will be closed 24/7 for roadway widening.
  • One westbound lane of Moanalua Road closed near Hoomalu Street between 9 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Intersection at Kaahumanu Street closed after 8 p.m.

Lipoa Place to Pali Momi Street

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • One eastbound lane closed 24/7 for column foundation work. Two eastbound lanes will remain open during peak travel times.

Pali Momi Street to Honomanu Street

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • One eastbound lane of the highway betwen Aiea Kai Place and Honomanu Street closed between 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Honomanu Street to Salt Lake Blvd. near Aloha Stadium

  • Up to three westbound lanes of the highway closed between 8 p.m-7 a.m.
  • Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • One westbound lane of the highway closed from Honomanu Street to Salt Lake Blvd. between 8 a.m-3:30 p.m.
  • Westbound on-ramp to Moanalua Freeway closed between 9 p.m.-5 a.m.
  • Eastbound on-ramp to the highway from Moanalua Road closed between 9 p.m.-5 a.m.

PEARL CITY TO AIEA
Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Kamehameha Highway this week at various locations.

  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Waiawa Road and Acacia Road.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Acacia Road and Waimano Home Road.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Lipoa Place and Pali Momi Street.
  • Lane closures in both directions between Puu Poni Street and Kuleana Street, Monday through Friday.
  • Lane closures in both directions between Waiawa Road and Waimano Home Road, Monday through Friday.

PEARL HARBOR/AIRPORT
Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

Arizona Street to Makalapa Road

  • Two right eastbound lanes of the highway are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • Right-turn only lane into Makalapa Gate is intermittently closed, right turn permitted at intersection.
  • Pedestrians in the area are asked to use the makai sidewalk.

Radford Drive to Halawa Drive

  • Two right eastbound lanes closed between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • Bus stop on the highway eastbound near Makalapa Road/Gate is temporarily closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

KAAAWA
24/7 lane closure in the northbound direction between Keo Place and Trout Farm Road for emergency shoreline improvements. Traffic will be contraflowed in the remaining open lane. Motorists are advised to expect delays.

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 
Now through 12:01 a.m. Monday: Two right lanes closed in the westbound direction between Aolele Street and Elliott Street as a safety precaution due to deck repairs happening above.

— ALA MOANA BOULEVARD —

HONOLULU
8:30 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning: Lane closures in both directions between Punchbowl Street and Coral Street for sewer repairs.

— MIDDLE STREET —

KALIHI 
8 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Saturday, June 27: Alternating lane closure in both directions between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway for the Middle Street Pavement Reconstruction project.

There will also be a 24/7 sidewalk closure on the west side of Middle Street. Signage will be posted instructing pedestrians to use the east sidewalk.
