Schedule of Oahu lane closures, May 26-29

SCHEDULE OF LANE CLOSURES (Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.):

— H-1 FREEWAY —

PEARL CITY 
6 p.m.-4 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday: Lane closures in the eastbound direction at the Aiea Pedestrian Overpass between the Kaamilo Street Overpass and the Aiea/Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13A).

  • Three center lanes will be closed from 6-9 p.m.
  • Four center lanes will be closed from 9 p.m.-4 a.m.

Please pay attention to traffic control signs as the traffic will be routed around the closure. Construction will replace approximately 10,000 square feet of deteriorated pavement on the freeway in the eastbound direction. The concrete deck will be replaced by approximately 84 precast panels.

8 p.m.-4 a.m. Tuesday through Friday: Three lanes closed in both directions between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass for the rail project.

  • Three right eastbound lanes closed 8 p.m.-4 a.m.
  • Three middle westbound lanes closed 9 p.m.-4 a.m.

PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU
9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Right lane closure in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split for deck widening.

  • One right lane closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
  • Two right lanes closed on Thursday

SALT LAKE
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Lane closure of the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp (Exit 15A) to Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

WAIPAHU
9 p.m.-4 a.m. Tuesday through Friday: Full closure of the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) from the freeway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

H-1/H-2 MERGE (WAIAWA INTERCHANGE)
8 p.m.-4 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday: Up to four westbound lanes and three eastbound lanes approaching the merge closed for the rail project. Westbound lane closures begin at 9 p.m.

WAIPAHU OFF-RAMP
9 p.m.-4 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday: Closed overnight for the rail project.

— H-2 FREEWAY —

WAIPIO
9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Tuesday through Wednesday morning: Full closure on the Mililani Tech Park/Wheeler AAF Off-Ramp (Exit 7) from the freeway in the northbound direction for striping installations.

9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Wednesday through Thursday morning: Full closure of the H-2 Freeway On-Ramp from Leilehua Road in the southbound direction for striping installations.

— H-3 FREEWAY —

KANEOHE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Right shoulder closure in the Honolulu-bound direction between the Mokapu Saddle Road On-Ramp and the Kapaa Quarry Place Underpass, and right shoulder closure on the freeway in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Kamehameha Highway On-Ramp and the Kapaa Quarry Place Underpass, both for utility installations.
 
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Left lane closure in the Honolulu-bound direction between the Kapaa Quarry Place Underpass and the Kamehameha Highway Off-Ramp (Exit 11) for median maintenance.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

PEARL CITY 
9 p.m.-4 a.m. Tuesday through Friday morning: Lane closures in the eastbound direction between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and Waiawa Road for the rail project.

WAIPAHU
Tuesday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

The outside lanes at various locations along the highway in each direction will be closed 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. weekdays for utility relocation work.

Leoku Street to Leokane Street

  • The inside lanes are closed between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and Saturday, as needed.
  • Westbound left turns restricted from the highway onto Leoole Street.
  • One of the two eastbound left-turn lanes from the highway onto Leoku Street is temporarily closed 24/7 because of shaft and column work.

Leokane Street to Pupukahi Street
The outside lanes are closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Waipahu Depot Road to Mokuola Street

  • The inside eastbound lane is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and Saturday, as needed.
  • Westbound lanes are closed between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.
  • Westbound left-turn lane onto Mokuola Street closed between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Pupukahi Street to Aniani Place
The outside lanes are closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY —

HAWAII KAI
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Roving lane closures in both directions  between Lunalilo Home Road and West Hind Drive for manhole adjustments.

9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Single lane closures in both directions at the Lunalilo Home Road intersection for striping work.

9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Single lane closure in the westbound direction between Puuikena Drive and West Hind Drive for installation of loop detectors.

8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Right lane closure in the eastbound direction between Hawaii Loa Street and Paiko Drive for road repaving work.

KAILUA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Right shoulder closure in the northbound direction between Keolu Drive and Ulupii Street for utility installations.

NIU VALLEY        
8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Right lane closure in the eastbound direction between Hawaii Loa Street and Halemaumau Street for asphalt repair.

EAST KAPOLEI/EWA
7:30 p.m.-5 a.m. Tuesday through Friday through end of May: Close between Kualakai Parkway (North-South Road) and Old Fort Weaver Loop for the rail project.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

PEARL CITY TO AIEA 
Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Kamehameha Highway this week at various locations.

  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Waiawa Road and Acacia Road.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Acacia Road and Waimano Home Road.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Lipoa Place and Pali Momi Street.
  • Lane closures in the westbound direction between Pali Momi Street and Honomanu Street, Monday through Friday.
  • Lane closures in both directions between Puu Poni Street and Kaonohi Street, Monday through Friday.
  • Lane closures in the westbound direction between Salt Lake Boulevard and Honomanu Street, Monday through Friday.

Tuesday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

Kamehameha Highway to Waiawa Road 
The eastbound lanes of the highway are closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Waiawa Road to Waimano Home Road 

  • One westbound lane of the highway near Acacia Road is closed weeknights between 8 p.m.-7 a.m.
  • One eastbound lane of the highway in the same vicinity is also closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.

Puu Pomi Street to Kuleana Road

  • One eastbound lane 24/7. Two eastbound lanes remain open.
  • Two westbound lanes closed from 8 p.m. with various left-turn restrictions.
  • One eastbound lane 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.

AIEA/ALOHA STADIUM
Tuesday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

Kuleana Road to Kaonohi Street

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are also closed overnight between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • One eastbound lane of the highway near Blaisdell Park will be closed 24/7 for roadway widening.
  • Hekaha Street intersection closed after 8 p.m. Motorists detoured to Kanuku Street and Lokowai Street.

Lipoa Place to Pali Momi Street

  • The right eastbound lane of the highway near the Pearl Kai Shopping Center is closed 24/7 as part of roadway widening work through Summer 2015.
  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • Intersection at Pali Momi Street closed after 8 p.m.

Pali Momi Street to Honomanu Street

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • Westbound traffic near Honomanu Street contraflowed to eastbound side between 9 p.m.-5 a.m.

Honomanu Street to Salt Lake Blvd. near Aloha Stadium

  • Up to three westbound lanes of the highway closed between 8 p.m-7 a.m. Closed westbound lanes near the boat ramp contraflowed 9 p.m.-5 a.m.
  • Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • One westbound lane of the highway closed between 8 a.m-3:30 p.m.
  • Intersection at Honomanu Street closed after 9 p.m.
  • Westbound on-ramp to Moanalua Freeway closed between 9 p.m.-5 a.m.

PEARL HARBOR/AIRPORT
Tuesday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

Arizona Street to Makalapa Road

  • Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for utility work.

Makalapa Road/Radford Drive Intersection

  • The right-turn lane from the highway onto Radford Drive is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • Right turns will still be permitted at the intersection.

Makalapa Road to Center Drive

  • Two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane of the highway are closed between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • The left-turn lane into Makalapa Gate will be contraflowed along the highway median.

Center Drive Intersection

  • The right-turn lane from Center Drive (mauka) onto the highway is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • The westbound bus stop at Kamehameha Highway and Center Drive is temporarily closed on weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • The outside westbound lane of Mauka Frontage Road/Kamehameha Highway near Center Drive is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • The right lane of Exit 15A is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Keehi Lagoon Beach Park

  • Section of park access road closed weekdays between 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Traffic detoured through park’s parking lots.

KAAAWA
7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Lane closure in the northbound direction between Keo Place and Trout Farm Road for emergency shoreline improvements. Traffic will be contraflowed in the remaining open lane.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Lane closure in the southbound direction between Kualoa Regional Park and Johnson Road for drainage improvements.

KAHUKU
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday: Lane closure in the southbound direction between Pualalea Street and Puuluana Street for utility pole replacements.

MILILANI
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Lane closures in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Waihau Street for road repaving, striping work, and guardrail installations. One lane will be open for motorists at all times. Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate roadways such as Kuahelani Avenue, Meheula Parkway, Lanikuhana Avenue, Ka Uka Boulevard and the H-2 Freeway.

WAIKANE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Alternating single lane closure in both directions between Waiahole Valley Road and Kahekili Highway for utility installations.

WAIKELE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Lane closures in both directions at the Lumiaina Street intersection for road reconstruction.

  • Lane closures on Lumiaina Street, eastbound, Tuesday through Friday.
  • Lane closures on Lumiaina Street, westbound, Wednesday.
  • Lane closures on Kamehameha Highway, northbound, Tuesday through Wednesday.
  • Lane closures on Kamehameha Highway, southbound, Thursday through Friday.

The Lumiaina Street Traffic Improvements project will add a dedicated left turn lane on Lumiaina Street in the eastbound direction, turning onto the northbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway towards Mililani. Traffic signals will be modified to provide a left-turn only green arrow for these lanes. Work is anticipated to be completed in June 2015.

— LIKELIKE HIGHWAY —

KALIHI
8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday: Right lane closure in the southbound direction between Gulick Avenue and Kalihi Street for utility maintenance.

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

HONOLULU
Lane closure in both directions between Punchbowl Street and Sumner Street for cable replacements.

  • One lane closed 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday.
  • Two lanes closed 8 p.m.-11:59 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday night.

PEARL HARBOR
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Right lane closed at the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp to Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

— ALA MOANA BOULEVARD —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday: Lane closure in both directions between Queen Street and Atkinson Drive for concrete pumping and deliveries.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Right lane closed in the eastbound direction between Kahanamoku Street and Kalakaua Avenue for sewage maintenance.

— VINEYARD BOULEVARD —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Roving single lane closure in both directions between Palama Street and the H-1 Freeway On-Ramp for road repairs.

— LILIHA STREET —

HONOLULU
Lane closures in the northbound direction between King Street and School Street for underground utility replacements.

One lane closed 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday.

8 p.m.-4 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday morning, May 30: Alternating lane closure in both directions between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway for the Middle Street Pavement Reconstruction project.

SAND ISLAND ACCESS ROAD —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday: Lane closures in both directions between Alahao Place and Pahounui Drive for asphalt repaving.
