Major work to repave city roads in Kalihi, Kalihi Valley, Kamehameha Heights and Alewa Heights begins Monday.
The work schedule is 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. On-street parking will be prohibited at times.
This project, contracted for $8.6 million, is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year. Work done will include cold planing, crack sealing, asphalt berm installation, reconstruction and resurfacing of asphalt roads, as well as tree and utility adjustment, and installation of permanent pavement markings and vehicle loop sensors.
This is the latest project as part of Mayor Caldwell’s 2013 pledge to pave all 1,500 lane miles of substandard city roads within five years.
