Police have a murder mystery on their hands after two men were killed on Sand Island over the weekend.
One day after the two men were gunned down on Sand Island, Honolulu police have not yet made an arrest or released details of exactly who they are looking for.
A small memorial has sprung up along the road where the men were shot. Flowers, red bandanas and a lot of bottles of malt liquor have been placed along Auiki Street between Puuhale Road and Mokauea Street.
According to police, the two victims were shot while they were in a car that ended up riddled with bullet holes.
One of the men was shot in the head, the other in the chest. That second man, after initially being rushed to the hospital in critical condition died just a few hours later.
The police are the not the only ones working on this case. The medical examiner is conducting autopsies.
Those cause of death reports, as well at the identities of the two men, have not yet been released.
