Freeway and street lane closure schedule: Jan. 4-9

Here’s this week schedule of lane closures on Oahu (Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.):

— H-1 FREEWAY —

WAIPAHU TO PEARL CITY
The Honolulu Rail Transit project will be working on the H-1 Freeway this week at various locations. Visit The Rail’s project website for more details.

WAIMALU TO WAIPAHU
9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closure in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu off-ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 split for road widening.

HONOLULU 
9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday morning: In both directions between the Ward Avenue overpass and the Kapiolani Boulevard underpass for pavement marking installations.

WAIPAHU
9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Shoulder lane closed in the eastbound direction between the Kunia off-ramp (Exit 5) and the H-1/H-2 interchange for utility installations.

MAKAKILO 
8:30 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Thursday: Full closure on the Makakilo/Kapolei/Kalaeloa off-ramp (Exit 2) in the westbound direction for road repairs.

— H-2 FREEWAY —

WAIPIO
8 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Friday morning: In the Honolulu-bound direction between the Ka Uka Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 2) and the Waiawa Road overpass for The Rail project.

WAHIAWA
8 p.m.-5 a.m. Sunday through Friday: In both directions between Wilikina Drive and the Wahiawa off-ramp (Exit 8) for bridge joint repair work.

MILILANI 
8 p.m.-5 a.m. Sunday and Monday: In both directions at the Kipapa Stream Bridge between the Ka Uka Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 2) and the Mililani Mauka off-ramp (Exit 5A) for bridge joint repair work.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

EWA TO KAPOLEI
The Honolulu Rail Transit project will be working on Farrington Highway this week at various locations. VisitThe Rail’s project website for more details.

PEARL CITY 
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closure in the westbound direction between Waiawa Road and Kamehameha Highway for The Rail project.

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY —

HAWAII KAI
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Two lanes closed in the westbound direction between Elelupe Road and Halemaumau Street for cold planing and resurfacing as part of the Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing project. Left turns allowed up to Halemaumau Street and past Kawaihae Street. U-turns to head back eastbound will be allowed at Kawaihae Street. Police will be stationed throughout the contra-flow section to help direct traffic.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

PEARL CITY TO HALAWA
The Honolulu Rail Transit project will be working on Kamehameha Highway this week at various locations. Visit The Rail’s project website for more details.

MILILANI
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Partial closures in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Waihau Street for utility installations and road resurfacing. Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate roadways such as Kuahelani Avenue, Meheula Parkway, Lanikuhana Avenue, Ka Uka Boulevard and the H-2 Freeway.

8:30 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Sunday through Friday: In both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenue for road reconstruction, resurfacing and installation of striping and markers. General traffic will be re-routed to the H-2 Freeway but local traffic access for Kipapa Gulch residents has been coordinated to be escorted through the project site as needed. Advisory message boards have been placed near Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenue with the work schedule.

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Left lane closed in the eastbound direction between Arizona Memorial Place and Arizona Street for roadside maintenance

HALEIWA
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday: In the southbound direction from Iwia Place to Paumalu Place for utility replacements.

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

HONOLULU
The Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Nimitz Highway this week at various locations. Visit The Rail’s project website for more details.

— VINEYARD BOULEVARD —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closures at various locations in the eastbound direction between Kokea Street and the H-1 Freeway on-ramp for road striping installations. Also in the eastbound direction between Punchbowl Street and the H-1 Freeway on-ramp for repaving work and utility installations, in the westbound direction between Queen Emma Street and Nuuanu Avenue for repaving work, and left lane closure in the westbound direction between Nuuanu Avenue and Liliha Street for utility installations.

— LUMIAINA STREET —

WAIKELE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Left turn lane closed in the eastbound direction at the Kamehameha Highway intersection for road reconstruction. All turns will be allowed from the intersection.

— KANEOHE BAY DRIVE —

KANEOHE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Single lane closure in the eastbound direction between Kamehameha Highway and Nanamoana Street for striping and drainage work as part of the Kaneohe Bay Drive Rehabilitation Project.
