Hundreds of people are gathering on the Great Lawn at the Bishop Museum in anticipation of the return of the blood moon.
Assuming the weather cooperates, they are all looking forward to the return of the blood moon which will happen during a full eclipse of the moon.
Tuesday the Bishop Museum is hosting a viewing party for the lunar event.
The partial phase of the eclipse will begin at 11:14 Tuesday.
Moon gazers will notice a bigger and bigger bite taken out of the moon.
During the total phase which will last from 12:25 a.m. to 1:24 a.m. the moon will be entirely within the earth’s dark shadow turning the moon a dark reddish color hence the blood moon.
For adults the lunar lounge will feature live music and specialty blood moon cocktails.
The event goes until 2 am.
