Joint Base Catering will hold an Oktoberfest from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Historic Hickam Officers’ Club. The event will be a traditional Bavarian festival, and reservations are now being accepted. Foods such as bratwurst, schnitzel and apple strudel will be served.
“Patrons can look forward to great food in a big open air festival type setting because it will be held on the lanai,” said Alexis Ybarra, catering director.
One feature Ybarra said will add to the fun and authenticity is entertainment from the Alpine Quintet Band.
“This is the band that has played at the Hale Koa famous Oktoberfest for years,” Ybarra said. “They are coming to us first—stopping by the Historic Hickam Officers Club for traditional music.”
Oktoberfest officially is a two-week celebration ending Oct. 5.
Prices for the Oktoberf estate the Historic Hickam Officers’ Club is $35 and includes a beverage. Club members get a discounted price of $28.
