On Saturday, July 19, Foster Botanical Garden will be transformed into a magical wonderland for Midsummer Night’s Gleam.
The downtown Honolulu garden will be adorned with more than 2,500 luminaries sparkling along the pathways.
Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, including belly dancers, lion dancers, the Golden Horde’s Mongolian tribesmen and sparring knights. Later in the evening, Sewa Fare, a West-African drum and dance ensemble, will perform at the main terrace.
Children’s activities, including painting, a bamboo music wall, seed toss, bubbles, balloons, and arts and crafts, will be available from 4-6 p.m.
There will also be a living wall display made of succulent plants, and a life-size elephant made of recycled bottles.
The event runs from 4-9 p.m. and admission is free.
