Leadership of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam will change hands next week when Capt. Jeffrey W. James will be relieved by Capt. Stanley Keeve Jr. during a change of command ceremony at 10 a.m. July 11 at the grassy knoll on Ford Island.
James assumed command in May 2011 as the second commander of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, which officially stood up in October 2010. As commander, James led the Navy’s third largest fleet concentration area with 177 tenant commands and about 93,000 active duty personnel, family members, Department of Defense civilians and contractors. Prior to reporting to joint base, James served on the staff of Commander, U. S. Pacific Fleet. He will retire after 30 years of naval service.
Keeve comes to Hawaii from the Pentagon where he served as military assistant to the Defense Business Board.
