HONOLULU —Pearl Harbor officials are issuing a warning to those with garage door openers.

Officials say they could be affected by the Rim of the Pacific exercise that begins Thursday.

About 25,000 people are expected to participate in the five week air, land and sea training. The exercises will join Pacific nations together and allow an opportunity for unique training to promote stability in the region.

The U.S. Navy is required to test surface-search radars prior to getting underway and those radars could affect the mechanism that operates garage door openers.

The Navy advised owners to check with their door company.

Exercises will run through the end of July.
