A convicted sex offender with a troubling rap sheet is on the loose. And it’s not the first time he’s walked away from a prison program.
Authorities have been searching for Alan Abihai for six days after he left OCCC early Tuesday morning on work furlough and failed to return that night.
This is the second time that Alan Abihai has escaped. Back in 2006, he spent two months on the run after walking away from the Laumaka Work Furlough Center.
The 52-year-old served his minimum term and was released on parole in 2009 but was back in custody for violating his parole.
Abihai is serving prison terms for convictions that include attempted murder, rape and kidnapping. Anyone who sees him should call police.
