North King St. reopened after critical pedestrian accident

Honolulu police have reopened the westbound lanes of North King Street  following a pedestrian accident.

The incident happened just before 6 a.m. Thursday near Gulick Street.

According to the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, a 71-year-old woman was apparently hit by a garbage truck. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Honolulu Police DepartmentLt. Bobby Towne says the woman was walking in a marked crosswalk.
